When I do crunches or other ab work-outs:
I feel my upper back/neck/shoulders/chest all straining unless I have my head resting on my hands the whole way up.
Then I feel the tension move to my abs. I’m not pulling my upper body up with my hands, I’m just holding it up and carrying it along. When I do it, does this make the crunch less effective, or do you think it will still be effective?

EXCELLENT DAY
So I had to mismatch things from my cupboard and fridge to make a snack/lunch/snack because I haven’t gone grocery shopping in a long time. It was a delicious lunch! There was tuna, chicken (for snack later), apples, a granola bar, oh yeah… and the most delicious thing I’ve tried since I started this healthy change! Lemon chobani with a cup of frozen strawberries!!
The night before, I put a cup of frozen strawberries in a tupperware with a little sprinkle of stevia (two packets). It served as an ice-pack AND a cool yogurt mix-up. I need more lemon chobani!!
I also stepped on the scale today. Oh well… I’ll be off it for a while.
I’m excited for my measurements in the next day or two! I would do it now, but I know I’m bloaty at the end of the day (especially after just drinking a ton of H2O).
My new work schedule has me working from 8:30am-5:45pm. I need to find good hearty snacks that won’t make me hungry through the day!
ALSO, I’ve been tracking my calories on myfitnesspal and I’ve been doing splendid on intake and exercises! I’m actually coming in a few calories short some of the days (so a add a bit extra for the next day). I see intake as a big long chain. Not just a day by day thing. If I go over one day, cut back the next and make healthier choices. If I didn’t eat enough one day, add a little snack the next day.
Sorry this post is long, I just have some time to write to you guys (HOLY MOLY!) and want to catch you all up with ALL MY WONDEROUS SUCCESS!!
EDIT: I’ve been doing 30DS and I can really notice a difference on my stamina. On the cardio exercises, I follow Nat! GO ME! Strength and abs are still beginner level for me, but I’m working hard. :D
